Several of the figures wear orange or a strong pink. <a href=\"http:\/\/issendai.com\/ottoman-turkish\/three-men-eating-a-meal\/\">One picture<\/a> shows a man in a pink kaftan dining with men who wear true red clothes, which confirms that the artist didn&#8217;t use pink as a replacement for red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/issendai.com\/ottoman-turkish\/tag\/source-codex-vindobonensis-8615\/\" target=\"_blank\">Codex Vindobonensis 8615<\/a>, painted c. 1585 by&nbsp;Johannes Lewenklaw, features several women dressed in orange as well as some figures wearing true red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/digitalcollections.nypl.org\/items\/510d47da-6172-a3d9-e040-e00a18064a99\/book?parent=19cac120-c6c3-012f-0965-58d385a7bc34#page\/1\/mode\/thumb\" target=\"_blank\">Siyar-i Nab\u00ee<\/a><\/em>, 1594-1595, is an illustrated manuscript of a Turkish translation of one of the classic biographies of Muhammad. The male costumes appear to be pseudo-Arabic, but the female costumes and the domestic details are Turkish. Almost every picture has someone dressed in pink, or orange, or both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> The&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/issendai.com\/ottoman-turkish\/tag\/source-the-album-of-ahmed-i\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Album of Ahmed I<\/em><\/a>, dated circa 1610 and painted by multiple Turkish artists, contains examples of both orange and true red.
